Product Description
Chrome-plated shafts are precision cylindrical rods that have undergone electroplating. Typically made from 45# steel, they are coated with a layer of hard chrome, possessing high hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and a bright finish. They are widely used in automation machinery, linear bearing guide rails, hydraulic and pneumatic piston rods, and other applications, primarily for guiding linear motion.

High hardness: The chrome layer has a hardness of over 62 HRC, enhancing wear resistance.
Corrosion resistance: The chrome layer effectively prevents rust and oxidation.
High precision: The smooth surface, when used with linear bearings, achieves precise linear guidance.

Chrome Plating Process and Principle:
A layer of chrome is deposited on the shaft base material (such as 45# steel) through an electrochemical method, forming a substantial hard chrome layer.
The hard chrome plating layer is thicker than decorative chrome plating, aiming to improve wear resistance and restore dimensions.
Difference from Optical Axis:
The term "shaft" here does not refer to the "optical axis" in optical instruments (an imaginary straight line indicating the path of light).
Instead, it refers to a "bright shaft," a linear guide shaft with a bright and smooth surface that has been precision machined and chrome-plated.
